Michelle Cunningham + Be Known, LLC Story

Let me tell you a story about Michelle.

Michelle & I met in mid 2019. She was a super passionate entrepreneur, a mom of two kids, and she lived up in Northern Ohio at the time.

But she had a big problem…

See, she wasn’t selling any courses or coaching…she was selling audio training on physical CD’s…yes, really. Physical CD’s with her training “course” burned on to them.

That’s not even the best part…she was packing & shipping these out of her spare bedroom…only making around $5 profit per CD.

Now, she had spent the past 6 years building up her online presence, but the CD sales, well she was stalled out and burnt out, with no REAL growth to show for it – never making more than around $5k in a single month from online sales.

All week long, she was shipping these CDs out of her home and all week long she was constantly thinking about how to grow this business online so she could ultimately make a bigger impact in the world.

So back to what I was saying…we met in mid 2019. And after I took one look at her current online efforts…I simply said “STOP”.

“But why?”

Well, from her hiring “badvertisers” that had mediocre success with FB Ads, to her building the funnel pages, writing the copy, creating videos, fixing the website pages herself, and everything in between. It was like a hamster wheel…exhausting for everyone involved.

What’s worse is that whenever someone bought the CD, on average, she only made $30.

But…she had to pay around $15 in advertising to get that sale.

…Then she had to pay around $5 for each CD shipped.

…Don’t forget the cost to actually buy the CDs, packaging, boxes, and shipping supplies.

…AND she had to pay the person who helped to ship the CD’s.

At the end of the day, she was only profiting about $5 per CD sale.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I would be pretty frustrated trying to be a difference maker with just five $5 sales per day.

To put that into perspective, our agreed upon goal with her was to make her $1,000,000, all from online sales, and at this current rate…she would need to sell 33,333 CD’s.

At 5 sales per day that would take around 18 years to hit that mark.

She didn’t like that timeline one bit, and neither did I. I mean, who in the world wants to take another 20 years to hit the big M?!

So she said: “Well, can you help?!”

And that’s the question we always love to hear. :)

Fast forward a week later, she brought my Team & I on to take care of her online marketing and the first thing we did was…increase the lifetime value (LTV) of a customer.

And here’s exactly how we did that:

We immediately made sure there were email automations to welcome & nurture new people into her “world”. These automatically FOLLOW UP with people without her ever having to do anything. They gave people a chance to really “fall in love” with her story over a few weeks.

We then used our “Feedback Machine” methodologies to gauge exactly what people wanted to buy. We worked with her 1-1 to help her create a series of online training courses based on what people wanted, so she could increase the amount that someone would spend.

The first new product was a self-paced course on how to sell direct sales products using FB Lives…really problem-focused stuff…that was the key. This immediately increased the #1 metric we care about in an online business: customer Lifetime Value (LTV). 

Then we created all of the “sales funnels” for her – all of the necessary opt-in pages, webinar registration pages, order forms, sales pages…and all of that fun stuff. We completely removed the burden of “tech stuff” and gave her breathing room to focus on her passions.

Then, we hit the big green LAUNCH button on this first campaign.

We started emailing her list and directing them to actually buy things from her. (What’s the point of an email list if you never ask them for a purchase.) This got massive ATTENTION without even having to run a single ad at first.

AND….

Things took off like a rocket ship! All she had to do was buckle up.

I won’t bore you with all the other details, but let’s just say she wakes up smiling every. single. day.

Long story short, she made over $50,000 in that weekend, all from her email list of about 6,000  that she thought was “ice-cold”.

We then did new product launches to the same list, making her tons in process – all the way up to making $250,000 in a single month.

Now…I’ll let you in on a secret. She’s made over $1.7 MILLION…not in 18 years…but literally just over 18 months since we started working together!

But most important was the fact that she was able to positively impact the lives of over 15,000 people. ​​

…All without her having to touch a single funnel, ad, or email that she didn’t want to. Completely removing the stress of worrying about shipping costly physical products like her CD’s.  

​​This was a fully validated, then automated, SYSTEM.

Now, she’s seeing that for every $1 she puts in, she’s making about $7 to $10 in return. Now, that’s ROI plain & simple.

Since then, she now has a system that works FOR her: increasing her sales, decreasing her expenses, and skyrocketing her long-term impact.

All in all, we are extremely proud of the fact that we gave her the freedom to focus on what she does best: helping and serving others at the highest level.
